Athlete. Teammate. Competitor. After 11 years at ISHCMC, An Ton Lo is taking his passion for sport, resilience, and teamwork to Loughborough University in the United Kingdom, where he will study International Business while continuing his golf journey.

Born in Ukraine, An Ton has spent more than a decade growing alongside the ISHCMC community. Throughout his time at school, sport has been a defining part of his journey, from representing ISHCMC on this year's varsity basketball team to competing in golf tournaments.

His proudest moment came on the basketball court. Despite feeling "very underprepared" at the start of the season, An Ton and his teammates went on to win the 2026 ASAC Basketball Tournament.

"Winning the ASAC showed that my work had paid off," he reflected. "Being able to celebrate with the team meant a lot to me."

Golf, though, has always held a special place in his heart. "I started playing golf when I was eight. It was my first big passion and hobby," he shared. That love inspired his proudest academic achievement: his Sports Science Higher Level Internal Assessment.

"It talks about something very meaningful to me," he reflected. "The work I put in felt very personal, and looking back at what I accomplished was impressive because I didn't think I could do that."

An Ton credits ISHCMC with giving him the confidence to take on challenges that once felt impossible.

This fall, An Ton begins studying International Business at Loughborough University while continuing his golf career. Looking ahead, he hopes to combine his passion for sport and business by one day building a company specializing in sporting equipment.

To his classmates, he shared: "Don't be afraid to take the next steps or to fail. And don't forget what we've built here as a community." And to his future self, a reminder that reflects his determination:

"Keep being resilient and keep staying balanced. Make yourself strong enough to handle everything coming along the way."

As An Ton begins his next chapter, his legacy at ISHCMC is one of resilience, teamwork, and the courage to embrace every challenge, on the course, on the court, and beyond.
