Filmmaker. Artist. Storyteller. Emillia (Milly) Adey leaves ISHCMC with festival recognition behind her and a future in the film industry ahead of her in the United Kingdom.

Milly joined ISHCMC in Grade 6 and never stopped creating. Across physical art, digital media, and filmmaking, she has spent the past several years sharpening her artistic voice while growing both personally and academically, building confidence and independence along the way.

Her proudest moment came beyond the classroom. A film she created earned recognition at several international film festivals, including the San Luis Obispo International Film Festival. That recognition confirmed what she already knew: storytelling was her path, and filmmaking was worth pursuing professionally.

Her creativity carried into her Grade 10 Personal Project, an exploration of film photography and the experience of living in a country different from the one you call home.

"It was creative but also academic," she shared. "The most rewarding part was seeing it all come together after months of planning and seeing everyone's response."

Asked to sum up her ISHCMC journey in three words, Milly chose challenging, rewarding, and comforting. She credits the school with giving her the confidence to become more independent and to learn how to work through challenges on her own.

This fall, Milly returns to her home country, the United Kingdom, to pursue a career in film, ready to explore the many creative and technical roles that bring stories to life on screen.

She leaves the ISHCMC community with a simple reminder: "Be you, you'll be fine." – Mac Miller. And to her future self: "I'm in pursuit of greatness." – Timothée Chalamet

As Milly embarks on her next adventure, her legacy at ISHCMC is one of creativity, authenticity, and the confidence to tell the stories she wants to tell.
