Dear Parents,

Today marks the culmination of 12+ years of formal education for our Grade 12 Leavers, and what a celebration we have had. The uniqueness of the school is seen in our traditions and the through school experience for our students is cemented in minds, as the Grade 12’s are not only celebrated at Secondary Assembly but are cheered through our Primary Campus and presented with letters of good luck for younger students for bright futures ahead. It is testimony to the deep sense of community at ISHCMC that this tradition thrives. Now for our Grade 12’s it is on to their examinations, good luck to all, and see you at Graduation in June.

Looking back over the week, I celebrated the wonderful dance performance at Secondary. It was such an accomplished choreography and performance from the dancers.

Earlier I led a detailed session with school leaders into the progress of the School and the exciting plans we have to take priorities in to next year, more to come on this soon. We also hosted a successful 3-day International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) Regional Conference at ISHCMC over the Spring Break, welcoming around 100 IB educators and celebrating our school’s reputation as a leader in IB education.

I can share that over this week and next, as part of our quality standards within the Cognita Global group, we host external auditors in the areas of Safeguarding, Safe Staff Recruitment, and Health and Safety. This is part of an annual cycle of review and helps ISHCMC maintain the highest international standards in these areas, alongside many others!

For the weekend, I thank our Aquatics Director for the exciting Swim Meeting, hosting SSIS at ISHCMC. Go Stingrays! On the same day, I know that the MASD Classical Music Charity Concert – A Journey Through Romantic Mastery, hosted by the School tomorrow evening, will be well attended.

And finally… let me bring to your attention the unique opportunity for our students to be part of the Oxford Summer Programme in Worcester College (UK) - emails have been sent to Grade 9-12 parents. This programme partners Cognita schools with Oxford University, UK. It gives a special insight into the programmes of learning and the system of study in University Colleges that Oxford provides. I know a number of former students who have found the program extremely useful.

Warm regards,

Marco Longmore
