Dear Parents,
In celebration of Vietnam’s Independence Day, I trust you had a wonderful time with family and friends over the long weekend. Before the weekend, it was a pleasure to attend our Primary School Assembly, in which our students, under the leadership of our Vietnamese teachers, created a rich and meaningful opportunity for the community to learn about this important day in Vietnam’s history.
As I arrived on the primary school campus this morning, seeing our students fully engaged in various co-curricular activities filled me with immense joy. The fields were abuzz with energy, and the pool echoed with laughter, signifying the true essence of our school community.
Last week, our student service group leaders hosted a service fair for their peers to sign up for clubs and activities for this trimester. There were 45 activities and clubs available for students to choose from. In the first 12 hours, over 90% of our student body had signed up for activities through the SchoolsBuddy platform.
It's heartening to witness the seamless integration of co-curricular pursuits into our daily routines. These activities are integral to shaping well-rounded individuals and fostering skills and values extending beyond the classroom.
Through participation in sports, arts, clubs, service, and various other endeavours, our students cultivate a sense of curiosity, resilience, empathy, and achievement.
They learn the importance of teamwork, perseverance, and leadership, while also discovering their unique talents and passions. These experiences align perfectly with our core school values, empowering our students to become confident, compassionate, and active members of society.
We encourage you to share your child's achievements outside of school with us at communications@ishcmc.edu.vn or to me directly at kimgreen@ishcmc.edu.vn. Whether it's a sporting triumph, an artistic accomplishment, or a community service endeavour, we want to celebrate our student's successes and acknowledge their dedication. Recognising their efforts reinforces the value of pursuing interests and passions.
As this first season of co-curricular activities unfolds, let us embrace the opportunities for growth and exploration. Together, we are creating a vibrant and enriching learning environment where every student can thrive. If you wish to volunteer or lead an activity for our students, please contact our Co-Curricular Activities Manager at alicepeng@ishcmc.edu.vn.
In kindness and service
Kim Green, Head of School
