With the current heatwave in Ho Chi Minh City this April, we encourage you to take simple steps to help your child stay fit and healthy for school.
Prolonged exposure to heat can increase the risk of dehydration, heat exhaustion, and heatstroke, especially in children.
Here are some simple steps to help your child stay healthy this month:
Before School
Make sure your child eats breakfast and drinks enough water before leaving home.
Encourage them to bring a water bottle to school.
Apply sunscreen and provide a hat or cap.
Dress your child in the school uniform. Please avoid thick clothing such as heavy pants or jackets.
During School
Students are encouraged to drink water regularly and eat a full lunch.
Outdoor activities may be reduced or moved indoors depending on the heat and air quality index (AQI).
The school will closely monitor students for signs of heat-related illness.
After School / At Home
Encourage your child to continue drinking water.
Watch for symptoms such as dizziness, headache, nausea, unusual tiredness, or dark urine.
Please seek medical care if your child has:
Persistent vomiting
Confusion or unusual behavior
High body temperature with no sweating
Severe headache or fainting
Our Wellness Center is available to support students during the school day. We will continue to monitor the weather condition closely and adjust school activities to keep students safe.
If you have any questions, please contact our Health Service Manager at afifaimam@ishcmc.edu.vn.
Thank you for your continued support.
