Vietnamese Literature Teacher
Nguyen Ngoc Chi
With more than 10 years of experience in various educational settings, Chi considers a teacher's journey an adventure when Chi meets students and supports them to help them become more passionate in their learning journey. For Chi, Learning is not only in books but in everything you see and do daily. It is a pleasure when she can observe and also support them as they learn, improve, and mature, even as they make mistakes and falter. Chi always does her best to assist, encourage and inspire them to succeed.

With almost twenty years of experience, Ms. Vi is a passionate Vietnamese Language and Literature teacher who finds daily inspiration in witnessing her students' progress. She loves helping them grow their understanding and appreciation for the beauty of the Vietnamese language and its rich literary heritage.

Nguyen Ho Que Giang
Being the Third generation in the family choosing teaching as a career, Giang is highly motivated, enthusiastic, and a dedicated educator. She is a warm and caring teacher who wants all children to be successful learners and works to create a classroom atmosphere that is stimulating, encouraging, and adaptive to the varied needs of students.

Rebecca has 12 years of teaching experience across the UK, Italy, Vietnam, and online learning. She is passionate about English, Theory of Knowledge, and exploring the thoughtful, ethical use of AI in education. Currently completing a Master's degree in Education and Technology at University College London, she believes in balancing innovation with traditional teaching to create meaningful, real-world learning experiences.

Chiwoo has over 10 years of teaching experience in Korean literature, essays, and IB. He enjoys education and feels rewarded by the positive changes in his students. In particular, he hopes that literature will be the basis for enriching the lives of as many people as possible.

George Musili
George joins ISHCMC with more than 10 years of experience teaching IB Language and Literature. He is passionate about helping students develop critical thinking through literary analysis and close reading of diverse texts. He brings extensive experience across the IB continuum, having served as an IB Examiner, Interim MYP Coordinator, Head of Department, and supervisor for the Personal Project and Extended Essay. George believes education should be transformative, empowering students to apply their learning in meaningful, real-world contexts. Outside the classroom, he enjoys reading, swimming, and playing basketball, and looks forward to joining the ISHCMC community.

Ginés Bernal
With extensive international teaching experience across Spain, China, and India, Gines is passionate about creating engaging, real-world language learning experiences that inspire curiosity and connection. He brings expertise in Spanish language education, the pedagogical use of AI, and Thinking Routines to personalize learning and help students thrive. Joining ISHCMC as the Spanish B Teacher and Mother Tongue Coordinator, Gines is relocating to Ho Chi Minh City with his wife, Naomy, and their young son, Nayel. Outside the classroom, he enjoys baking sourdough, cooking Spanish cuisine, and exploring Asian cinema.

Justin Reyes
Through almost 10 years working in the field of education, Justin has learned that education is a process of co-creation, that each student has their own specific learning needs, and that education should continue to challenge and evolve. Justin has always believed that teaching and learning is a process of co-creation. The teacher does not hold the monopoly of knowledge, but rather, creates opportunities for the students to help in producing, refining, and negotiating knowledge.

Kaori Iwaki
Kaori brings extensive expertise in language education to ISHCMC with 16 years of experience teaching IB Japanese. A graduate of Osaka University with a Master's degree in Japanese Literature, she has taught at international schools across China and Thailand while living in cities around the world. Passionate about making learning enjoyable, Kaori creates engaging lessons that inspire students to develop a love for the Japanese language and culture.

Laney Rweyemamu
Student-centered teaching and learning is at the core of Laney’s educational philosophy. Laney works to ensure that the voice of each student is heard so that all stakeholders can work collectively to harness each students’ academic and personal potential, and create a path for their future endeavors. This is done through active listening and participation in collective decision-making, by fostering healthy relationships built on open communication, feedback and goal setting, and by allowing students to take ownership over their own learning.

Lucy Bowden
Originally from England, Lucy joins ISHCMC after four years of teaching in Ho Chi Minh City. Passionate about English Language and Literature, she loves introducing students to diverse voices and perspectives through literature from around the world while fostering a lifelong love of reading. Lucy is excited to become part of the ISHCMC community and continue inspiring students through meaningful discussions, critical thinking, and the power of storytelling.

Ryan Gibson
Ryan Gibson teaches English in Grades 6–9. Originally from Kent, England, he studied English and History at the University of Liverpool and has spent the past 9 years living in Ho Chi Minh City. Ryan is particularly interested in helping students become confident, independent readers, writers, and communicators. He balances discussion and creativity with clear expectations, giving students room to develop their own perspectives and understand why their learning matters. His experience has also included serving as Grade 6 Level Leader. Beyond the classroom, Ryan coaches football and cross country, writes fiction, reads widely, runs, plays padel, and enjoys exploring new places and food with his family.

Sarah Connon-Griffiths
As a teacher, Sarah is dedicated to inspiring and engaging learners, instilling them with a love of reading that will stay with them throughout their lives. Sarah has a strong interest in curriculum design, in particular aiming that the curriculum is diverse, introducing students to new concepts and cultures. Sarah aims to encourage emotional intelligence in her students, ensuring there is enough time at the beginning and end of each lesson to be mindful and self-evaluate and encouraging them to adopt mindfulness techniques both in the classroom and at home.

Seung Hee has experience teaching IB MYP Korean Language and Literature in China. She is passionate about supporting multilingual learners as they strengthen their Korean literacy and cultural identity within an international school setting. She believes every student thrives when they feel understood and supported, and is dedicated to helping learners build confidence and reach their full potential.

Tulika Bathija
Tulika Bathija teaches MYP English Language & Literature in Grades 6, 7, and 9. Across 15 years in education, she has taught in India, Japan, Ukraine, and Vietnam. Her classroom is rooted in empathy, accessibility, and belonging. Tulika is particularly passionate about disability justice, neurodivergent learners, mental health, and creating spaces where difference enriches how students learn together. She has also led professional learning on disability rights, gender, and masculinity. For Tulika, education is a place to question inherited ideas, imagine alternatives, and help young people recognize their own agency. Her greatest motivation at ISHCMC remains simple: the students.
