Isaiah Gudipati is a mathematics teacher with over 23 years of experience in international schools across Thailand, Myanmar, and India. He has taught IB, AP, and IGCSE programs and focuses on helping students find meaning in math through inquiry and real-world applications. He enjoys building strong relationships with students and creating a classroom environment where they feel supported, motivated, and confident in their learning.

Alexander Meyers teaches Mathematics in Grades 9, 10, and 11. Originally from the United States, he previously taught in Honduras and Thailand. Alexander sets high expectations while paying close attention to the confidence and well-being students need to meet them, particularly in a subject that can sometimes feel high-pressure. He is proud of leading an AP Precalculus course in which every student passed the AP exam during its first year. At ISHCMC, he values working alongside colleagues who share ideas and support students together.

Originally from the Philippines, Christian joins ISHCMC with experience teaching mathematics in international and IB schools. Passionate about helping students develop confidence, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, he creates inclusive, student-centered learning environments where mathematics is engaging and connected to the real world. Christian has also served as a workshop facilitator at IB Dunia Conferences, supporting the professional growth of fellow educators. Luan Nguyen
Luan Nguyen teaches DP Mathematics and Computer Science at ISHCMC. Raised in Melbourne from the age of ten, he initially studied electrical engineering before finding his calling in teaching. He brings experience from the UK and Australia, alongside further study in data science at RMIT. Luan helps students understand what they are learning, what to work on next, and how to make progress. His students are what he enjoys most about teaching, and returning to Vietnam has been a meaningful part of his own story. Outside the classroom, his sporting interests have ranged from judo and ice hockey to badminton and CrossFit.

Mary Ascione
Mary Ascione teaches Mathematics in Grades 7 and 10 and serves as Grade 10 Level Leader. Originally from Australia, Mary has spent more than 30 years teaching across a remarkable range of schools and age groups, with experience in Australia, the UK, Malaysia, Qatar, and Vietnam. With academic backgrounds in both Mathematics and Drama, she has always been drawn to the human side of teaching: seeing students succeed, find confidence, and know they belong. One of her proudest professional experiences was becoming the inaugural Head of Middle School at an Australian college and helping shape a new approach to middle years education. Away from school, Mary is an intrepid traveler who has visited 58 countries.

Pauline Tran
Pauline Tran works with multilingual learners through ISHCMC’s IELP and currently supports students in Grades 6 and 7. An Australian educator with experience at ISHCMC American Academy Vietnam and BIS, Pauline specializes in English as an Additional Language. Her teaching is inquiry-based and purposeful. She uses different strategies to make learning accessible while maintaining clear expectations, gradually helping students become more independent. Discussion and collaboration are central to her classroom because students have much to learn from one another. Pauline particularly values the range of talents students bring to ISHCMC and enjoys seeing them contribute through the arts, sport, service, leadership, and many other parts of school life.
