Paul Brotherton
Paul has been an educator since 1997, working in the UK, Oman, Dubai, Sweden, and Fiji. An IB workshop leader, Paul brings strong leadership in Physical and Health Education, with a BA in Educational Studies and a career rooted in holistic student well-being.

Alex Wolfe
Alex Wolfe is the Grade 7 Grade Level Leader at ISHCMC. He teaches Grade 6 and Grade 7 IELP, as well as Grade 9 Physical and Health Education. Originally from England, Alex grew up playing rugby and later coached the sport in different parts of the world. He now brings the same energy and determination to trail running, regularly taking on races across Vietnam. Alex believes students grow when they feel supported to step beyond what is comfortable and discover what they can achieve. He values the care, skill and sense of fun that ISHCMC teachers bring to their work each day.

Bonnie Coles
Bonnie is a passionate Physical and Health Education teacher with extensive international teaching experience across China, Thailand, Cameroon, Egypt, Cambodia, and Vietnam. She is dedicated to helping students develop confidence, teamwork, and a lifelong love of physical activity. Bonnie is excited to rejoin the ISHCMC community, where her daughter, Maddie, will complete her education. Outside the classroom, she enjoys playing sports and board games.

Brian McDermott
Brian teaches Physical and Health Education to Grades 7 and 10 at ISHCMC. Originally from Ireland, he is a qualified PE and English teacher with experience in Ireland and Vietnam. He trained at the University of Limerick and holds a Postgraduate Certificate in 21st Century Teaching and Learning from Trinity College Dublin. Brian helps students develop movement skills, teamwork, and confidence through practical, enjoyable lessons where everyone can participate. He encourages students to find activities they enjoy and build lasting healthy habits. Outside school, Brian enjoys staying active and training.

Lee Pilon
Lee Pilon is a Secondary PHE teacher from Toronto, Canada. His international teaching experience has taken him to Taiwan, Colombia, the UAE, Hanoi, Kuala Lumpur, and Ho Chi Minh City. Lee’s professional interests include PHE, coaching, athletics, reflection, and the thoughtful use of technology. He creates a learning environment where students can move, have fun, reflect, and build strong relationships through humor, guidance, coaching, and mentorship. He has also shared his practice at conferences including the EARCOS Teachers’ Conference and PHASE Asia Pacific Conference. A lifelong hockey player and fan, Lee now plays in the Saigon Ball Hockey League. His wife is also an ISHCMC educator, and their son is in Grade 2.

Philippa Sheward
Philippa is from the UK. She has 14 years of international teaching experience in Italy, China and the Czech Republic. Philippa enjoys reading, travelling, playing and watching football, and is a passionate Liverpool fan.
