Dear ISHCMC Community,
As you may know, at the end of this calendar year (December 2026), I will take on an expanded role as Managing Director for Cognita’s schools across South-East Asia and India. However, I am pleased to confirm that I will continue with my wholehearted commitment as Head of School at ISHCMC until the end of Academic Year 2026–2027 (June 2027). This will provide continuity for our students, families, and staff as we prepare carefully for the school’s next chapter.
With the future in mind, beyond this academic year, I will remain closely connected to ISHCMC through my broader responsibilities. As Chair of Governors of ISHCMC, I will serve as Line Manager to our new Head of School. ISHCMC is a very special community, and I remain deeply committed to supporting its continued growth as Ho Chi Minh City’s longest-established international school and a leading school in Asia. I am pleased to report that a global search has already begun to find an experienced and suitable successor to the Head of School role for ISHCMC next academic year.
Yesterday, I had the pleasure of meeting many of our Grade 12 students and families at Back-to-School Night. The final year of school brings both opportunities and challenges, from IBDP examinations and university applications to the social and emotional demands of an important transition. I hope the evening provided the information, guidance, and reassurance families need for the year ahead. Our teachers, advisors, counselors, and leaders will be alongside every student throughout this final year at ISHCMC.

This week, House Spirit Week has brought wonderful energy to our Secondary campus. From karaoke to Sports Day, students have connected, competed, and celebrated what it means to belong to ISHCMC. I am particularly proud that these activities were led by our Student Executive Team (SET), working closely with faculty. Thank you to every student and colleague who helped bring the week to life.

Next week, our community will mark Vietnam Independence Day on 2 September. As we reflect on Vietnam’s history and the values of resilience and unity, I wish all our students, families, and staff a restful holiday and meaningful time together.

I look forward to continuing to connect with you throughout the year.
Best wishes,

Marco Longmore
