Dear ISHCMC Families,
At ISHCMC, we hold a simple but powerful belief: at any stage in life, we should be open to develop and learn; therefore, when teachers learn, students thrive. Tomorrow, our teachers will take part in CogCon 2025, Cognita’s annual professional learning conference that brings together educators from across our region. It is a day when teachers step away from their classrooms, not to pause learning but to deepen it.

Every conversation, reflection, and idea shared at CogCon directly shapes what happens in our classrooms. Whether exploring new ways to spark curiosity, refining approaches to feedback, or learning how to better support well-being, these moments of professional growth have a lasting impact on how our students experience learning each day.
Throughout the day, teachers will engage in purposeful collaboration and reflection, exploring new ideas and sharing experiences that strengthen their professional practice. The day will be led by our Deputy Head of School, Dr. Tosca Killoran, whose vision for professional growth continues to strengthen the culture of learning that defines ISHCMC.

Professional learning is not a break from teaching; it is an essential part of it. Great schools are built on great teachers who are always growing, who question, adapt, and evolve to meet the needs of a changing world. When our educators invest in their own learning, they model the very values we hope to instill in our students: curiosity, openness, and the courage to keep improving.
As our teachers take part in CogCon 2025, we do so as one learning community, united in our commitment to growth and to ensuring that every child at ISHCMC continues to thrive in an ever evolving world.
Best wishes,

Marco Longmore
