PTO President
Romina Campana

"Building Bridges, Designing Community, and Supporting ISHCMC Family
As an expat family for the last 20 years who has lived across four different countries, I deeply understand the importance of building a supportive home away from home. I am the proud mom of Aless, who is currently in Grade 8.4, and for the past eight years, our family has been deeply rooted in the ISHCMC community.
Professionally, I work full-time as a Furniture and Decor Design Manager at a design company in Saigon, a role where I utilize project management and creative problem-solving daily with crativity and heart.
Since arriving at ISHCMC, my mission has been to actively support our community with real actions. I have volunteered in numerous roles, serving as Class Representative, Country Representative, and participating in major events like end-of-the-year parties,Rhino Hut sales, teachers appreciation days, flag parades, etc before officially joining the PTO Executive Team in 2024 as secretary and after that as PTO President in 2025.
Throughout these years of attending countless meetings and events, my greatest reward has been witnessing hundreds of our children grow not just taller, but intocaring human beings, leaving a legacy of big smiles and endless hugs across both campuses corridors. I have dedicated myself to guiding new families through their challenging first months, partnering with teachers to plan meaningful student activities, and serving as a trusted bridge to translate parent feedback directly to principals and the Head of School.
As your PTO President, I will use my professional creative skills and deep institutional knowledge to defend our school values, listen to your voices, and ensure the PTO creates the happiest, most memorable moments for our kids."
PTO Vice President - Primary Campus
Nami Yoneda

"My name is Nami Yoneda, and I’m a parent of children in KG and G3.
This is my fourth year at ISHCMC. I have been actively involved in our school community as a Class Representative for the past three years. This school year, I have also supported communication and collaboration between the PTO and Class Reps while serving as the Japanese Country Representative.
I truly value teamwork, open communication, and building a positive and supportive community for our children and families."
Anh Hoang

"I would like to express my interest in self-nominating for the PTO Vice President role for ISHCMC Primary.
My name is Anh Hoang, mother of Jayden Truong from current Class 4E, who will be moving to Grade 5 next school year at ISHCMC. I am a marketing and community engagement professional with over 15 years of experience across multinational and fast-paced environments in Vietnam and Southeast Asia, with strengths in leadership, stakeholder management, brand strategy, communication, and cross-functional collaboration.
Over the past four years at ISHCMC, I have been deeply involved in the school community through workshops, parent meetings, school events, ASA activities for both students and parents, and ongoing engagement with international families both inside and outside of school. I have also actively accompanied and supported my child and his peers through the school’s Stingrays swim team — a long-term activity that runs consistently throughout the academic year and contributes significantly to student development, parent engagement, and school community spirit.
These experiences have given me valuable insights into parent expectations, international school community dynamics, and opportunities to further strengthen engagement and communication across the Primary community.
I also regularly exchange observations, ideas, and constructive feedback with the Primary Leadership Team, while continuously learning from practices across leading international schools in the region, including newer schools entering the market such as King’s College School.
Beyond these conversations, I have also directly shared feedback and supported collaboration with relevant school departments on matters related to student and parent experiences. In several situations, I have proactively stepped in to help bridge communication and understanding between parents and the school, with the intention of fostering a positive, collaborative, and solution-oriented community environment.
Most importantly, I genuinely care about building a warm, inclusive, collaborative, and future-focused environment where parents, students, and the school feel strongly connected and supported.
I believe my professional background, hands-on involvement within the school community, and genuine passion for parent engagement and community building would allow me to contribute positively to the continued growth and evolution of the ISHCMC Primary community.
Thank you very much for your consideration. I would be honored to further support and contribute to the ISHCMC community through this role."

PTO Vice President - Secondary Campus
Mai Phuong Nguyen

"I am Phuong - mum of Anthony G6 and Benjamin G9 on this coming school year. I am here to be your next PTO Vice-President for secondary. As a dedicated, full-time mother and an active member of the ISHCMC community for the past six years, I am deeply committed to strengthening the connection between our school, parents, and students.
Having served as a Class Representative, Country Representative and currently as the PTO Secretary for both the Primary and Secondary campuses, I have a really good, complete understanding of how our school works and what our community needs across all grade levels.
Being a full-time mom allows me the flexibility to be on campus and readily available to address everything from day-to-day questions to urgent, time-sensitive issues.
Moreover, my active involvement in the secondary parent groups means I closely follow our community feedback. I know what worked well in previous years, understand the specific support each grade needs at different times of the year, and can help turn areas of improvement into successful initiatives.
Last but not least, I am fluent in both English and Vietnamese. I lived overseas for more than 15 years before moving back to Vietnam. I take pride in being a welcoming, approachable, and familiar face for both our local and expat families, ensuring every parent feels heard and connected.
I look forward to continuing to bring my experience, energy, and passion to the PTO to create meaningful moments for the wonderful ISHCMC community."
Khanh Nguyen (Katie)

"My name is Khanh Nguyen aka Katie.
I am the parent of William Nguyen in Grade 5, and our family has been part of the school community for the past 6 years. I currently serve as the Vietnam Representative and have truly enjoyed working closely with families, staff, and fellow country representatives to help build a strong and connected community.
Over the past year, I have helped coordinate and support school events alongside the Event Team, including the World Food Festival and Flag Parade. I have also worked closely with other country representatives to help bring families together and encourage community involvement across the school.
I love connecting with people, being involved, and helping wherever I can.
I strongly believe in building a positive partnership between school and home, serving as a bridge that brings our community together, and helping create a safe, supportive, and strong school environment for all of our children.
I also believe it is important that parents’ voices are heard, valued, and represented within our school community."
PTO Treasurer
Shina Akagawa

I have worked as an news anchor, curriculum developer and primary school teacher. I love working with children and seeing their growth!
Being in the PTO fulfills me as I grew up in international schools, so it feels like home. I also feel I have a lot to bring to the table due to my background in education."
