Christian Salaza
Originally from the Philippines, Christian joins ISHCMC with experience teaching mathematics in international and IB schools. Passionate about helping students develop confidence, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, he creates inclusive, student-centered learning environments where mathematics is engaging and connected to the real world. Christian has also served as a workshop facilitator at IB Dunia Conferences, supporting the professional growth of fellow educators. Outside the classroom, he enjoys traveling, exploring different cultures, and playing volleyball.
6.2 Advisory Teacher
Isaiah Gudipati
Isaiah joins us with 23 years of experience in international schools across Thailand, Myanmar, and India. Specializing in IB, AP, and IGCSE math programs, he emphasizes real-world applications and inquiry-based learning. Isaiah holds a Master of Arts in Teaching, a BSc in Mathematics, and a US teaching certificate. He's passionate about nurturing supportive, engaging classrooms.
6.3 Advisory Teacher
Tulika Bathija
Tulika Bathija teaches MYP English Language & Literature in Grades 6, 7, and 9. Across 15 years in education, she has taught in India, Japan, Ukraine, and Vietnam. Her classroom is rooted in empathy, accessibility, and belonging. Tulika is particularly passionate about disability justice, neurodivergent learners, mental health, and creating spaces where difference enriches how students learn together. She has also led professional learning on disability rights, gender, and masculinity. For Tulika, education is a place to question inherited ideas, imagine alternatives, and help young people recognize their own agency. Her greatest motivation at ISHCMC remains simple: the students.
6.4 Advisory Teacher
Naima Thompson
Ms. Naima Thompson teaches MYP Theater in Grades 6–10. Originally from Trinidad and Tobago, she studied in the United States, earning a BA in Communication Arts and an MEd in International Education. A Communication Arts educator and practitioner since 1992, her work has centered on speech, theater, performance, and production, with experience in Vietnam, the UAE, Qatar, and beyond. She also founded Necessary Arts, an NGO bringing arts opportunities to underfunded communities in the Caribbean, Middle East, and Africa. At ISHCMC, Naima wants students to find their place in theater, whether through performance or design, while bringing families closer to the creative process.
6.5 Advisory Teacher
Ryan Gibson
Ryan Gibson teaches English in Grades 6–9. Originally from Kent, England, he studied English and History at the University of Liverpool and has spent the past 9 years living in Ho Chi Minh City. Ryan is particularly interested in helping students become confident, independent readers, writers, and communicators. He balances discussion and creativity with clear expectations, giving students room to develop their own perspectives and understand why their learning matters. His experience has also included serving as Grade 6 Level Leader. Beyond the classroom, Ryan coaches football and cross country, writes fiction, reads widely, runs, plays padel, and enjoys exploring new places and food with his family.
6.6 Advisory Teacher
Cameron Gensemer
Cameron Gensemer teaches MYP Individuals and Societies, drawing on his interests in sociology, history, and geography. Originally from the United States, he has lived and taught in California, Bangkok, and Ho Chi Minh City over 15 years in education. Cameron believes students learn most deeply when they are active participants. His classroom gives them room to ask questions, test ideas, make mistakes, and challenge their own thinking, with clear structure when they need it. He is especially proud of supporting a student-led food drive for Thien Phuoc Orphanage that grew from a simple idea into meaningful local action.
6.7 (IELP) Advisory Teacher
Pauline Tran
Pauline Tran works with multilingual learners through ISHCMC’s IELP and currently supports students in Grades 6 and 7. An Australian educator with experience at ISHCMC American Academy Vietnam and BIS, Pauline specializes in English as an Additional Language. Her teaching is inquiry-based and purposeful. She uses different strategies to make learning accessible while maintaining clear expectations, gradually helping students become more independent. Discussion and collaboration are central to her classroom because students have much to learn from one another. Pauline particularly values the range of talents students bring to ISHCMC and enjoys seeing them contribute through the arts, sport, service, leadership, and many other parts of school life.
