Bonnie Coles
Bonnie is a passionate Physical and Health Education teacher with extensive international teaching experience across China, Thailand, Cameroon, Egypt, Cambodia, and Vietnam. She is dedicated to helping students develop confidence, teamwork, and a lifelong love of physical activity. Bonnie is excited to rejoin the ISHCMC community, where her daughter, Maddie, will complete her education. Outside the classroom, she enjoys playing sports and board games.

Elvira is a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher with a strong academic background in Secondary Education, major in Biological Science. Born and raised in the Philippines, she believes that teaching is more than just a profession—it is a calling to inspire, guide, and serve as a role model for learners. Elvira is committed to creating a supportive and engaging learning environment where learners feel valued, challenged, and empowered to reach their full potential both inside and outside the classroom.

Jeffrey Araula
Jeffrey is from the Philippines and has taught IB in Manila, Tel Aviv and Hanoi He has been teaching for more than 17 years. He holds a degree of Bachelor of Science major in Biology (cum laude) from Silliman University in the Philippines, a Master in Marine Management from Dalhousie University in Canada and a Professional Teaching Certificate from the Philippines. He is part of the IBEN and is an IBDP Examiner, MYP Program Leader and a Workshop Leader. Jeffrey enjoys a balanced life and is very interested in traveling the world to experience different cultures and meet diverse people. He is passionate about student empowerment through sports development and student engagement in and outside the classroom. Jeffrey believes in creating an ecosystem of collaboration and teamwork to provide both students and teachers the opportunity to grow and reach their potential.

Karen believes that students nowadays need to be taught to be creative thinkers, to be more resilient, and to improve their fine motor skills (eg dexterity) by giving them more practical exercises. As a teacher, she believes in developing the growth mindset and extending the barriers students have set among themselves, develop collaboration skills, and integrity.

Pauline Tran
Pauline Tran works with multilingual learners through ISHCMC’s IELP and currently supports students in Grades 6 and 7. An Australian educator with experience at ISHCMC American Academy Vietnam and BIS, Pauline specializes in English as an Additional Language. Her teaching is inquiry-based and purposeful. She uses different strategies to make learning accessible while maintaining clear expectations, gradually helping students become more independent. Discussion and collaboration are central to her classroom because students have much to learn from one another. Pauline particularly values the range of talents students bring to ISHCMC and enjoys seeing them contribute through the arts, sport, service, leadership, and many other parts of school life.

Shauna Hever
Shauna Hever teaches Middle School Science and DP Biology. Originally from Ireland, she previously taught in Manchester, where her experience also included English as an Additional Language and A Level Chemistry. Shauna wants her classroom to feel warm, lively, and welcoming. She creates opportunities for students to ask questions, follow their curiosity, and take increasing ownership of their learning. Just as important is the sense that every student belongs in the room. At ISHCMC, Shauna particularly enjoys the life of the school beyond lessons, from House activities and camps to after-school activities.
